Padre Island
Padre Island is located on the South Texas coast and is actually two distinct communities, South Padre Island is a major tourist attraction, and North Padre Island, commonly referred to as just Padre Island, is slightly further to the North and part of the City of Corpus Christi.
Padre Island is a waterfront development with around 8,000 residents, nestled between the Intra Coastal Waterway, (ICW), and the Gulf of Mexico. The lifestyle is casual with a coastal theme, a place where golf, watersports and excellent fishing are enjoyed by many, as are the natural beaches.
The Island is seperated from the mainland by a causeway, which is currently being elevated higher. Waterway access to the Gulf is nearby, and a proposed development will bring that access even closer in the near future.
The climate is what one might expect of South Texas, gloriously hot Summers and mild Winters. The constant breeze is an ever mindful companion and helps make Summer an outdoor season you can actually enjoy the outdoors.
